

Lake Pressegger See is Carinthia's largest bathtub and is conveniently located just 15 minutes by car from the Ramsi Family Hotel. Simply pack your swimming costume, bikinis and swimming trunks and enjoy the summer in the lake, which is up to 28 degrees Celsius (with drinking water quality). There are also family-friendly lidos with boat hire and lots of water sports facilities.

Lake Weissensee (with drinking water quality) is a natural jewel of a very special kind. It is only 30 minutes by car from our Kinderhotel Ramsi and gets up to 25 degrees Celsius in summer. It is one of the purest bathing lakes in the Alps and is also known as "nature's playground". Here you can swim, dive, jump off cliffs, water ski, surf, sail and much more in breathtakingly beautiful natural surroundings.

Head off to thundering waterfalls, bizarre rock formations and spectacular natural spectacles. Around 10,000 years old, the Garnitzenklamm gorge is a world of water and rock that you can explore on foot. The path leads you across bridges, ladders and paths through the gorge and gives you unforgettable insights into the wonders of nature and geology.

In our region, there are countless cosy hiking trails for the whole family with great viewpoints and play opportunities. Visit the "Realm of the Lake Witch" on Lake Presseggersee, for example. Hike along the "Dolce Vita Weg" or the "BergWasser" aqua trail on the Nassfeld. And set off on the bee nature trail or the Rattendorf water adventure trail along Lake Weissensee. The choice is huge!

There's a lot going on at the Nassfeld in summer. First of all, you may take the cable cars up to the summits and mountain pastures. Once at the top, you can then choose from a variety of experiences: the Pendolino summer toboggan run, the smugglers' trail "Im Reich der Wilden Bande", the "Almrausch" mountain playground, or the Nassfeld outdoor park with its rock labyrinth, flying fox, 3D archery course and much more.

The river Gail is our life-giving water artery, and it is a fantastically beautiful river. Sometimes gentle and sometimes wild, it meanders through our Carinthian Gailtal valley and is just waiting to be discovered by you. Family rafting, canyoning or rivertubing allow you to get to know the Gail from its spectacular side – perfectly led and accompanied by guides from our region.

If you love biking, you'll love our region. Here you can pedal along 950 km on 46 marked mountain bike and cycle trails. There's a pump track in Tröpolach plus a large number of trails and downhill routes at the Nassfeld. The Nassfeld is one of the ten best ski resorts in Austria, a winter dream come true for skiers of all ages. Here you can enjoy unlimited skiing fun on 110 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes. There is also a ski movie racetrack, a snow park, freeride areas and the Nassfeld cinema. The valley station of the mountain railway is just a five-minute drive from Kinderhotel Ramsi.
Skiers (beginners and advanced) from the age of 4 can learn to ski and improve their skills at our partner ski school "Die Skischule.at" at the Nassfeld. There are also children's and adult ski courses, ski touring and freeriding courses and much, much more. You can get your ski passes directly at the hotel.
Snow-covered landscapes, glistening ice crystals and bright blue skies: a winter's day here can be pretty kitschy. But dream days like this are just perfect for tours through the region. Get on your toboggan and whoosh down the natural toboggan r1un! We have a total of 6 toboggan runs with lengths between 400 metres and 2 kilometres to enjoy tobogganing and yodelling down. Toboggan hire is of course also available on site.

Celebrate an atmospheric New Year's Eve with us in the middle of the wintry Alps. At the turn of the year, we set off a children's firework display in the late afternoon of 31 December. And at midnight there will be a New Year's Eve show with colourful fireworks for the adults. Outside, a campfire and punch will warm us up while the sounds of waltzes ring in the New Year. The small town of Hermagor is just a 7-minute drive from your Ramsi Family Hotel. Here you can stroll through charming alleyways, shop in regional shops, enjoy a cosy coffee and light refreshments and explore the Gailtal Valley Museum of Local History. Events and markets are regularly organised here. It's well worth a visit!
If you fancy a change of scenery, art and culture, we recommend a trip to the city of Villach. It's around 45 minutes' drive away – a gem located along the river Drau. The old town centre with its historic buildings, cafés and small shops in a lively pedestrian zone invites you to shop, stroll and linger. The Villach City Museum is also well worth a visit.

KLE-SCH in St. Daniel offers a great year-round indoor programme for all climbing and archery enthusiasts. The climbing wall is 18 metres high. Here you can enjoy climbing on over 100 routes with difficulty levels to suit all abilities. And children aged 8 and over can shoot their first arrows on the championship-calibre 3D indoor course.
Just 41 kilometres from the Ramsi Family Hotel, you can enjoy a wonderful mix of Alpine and Mediterranean atmosphere in the small Italian town of Tarvisio. One of the attractions is the traditional market, where people haggle loudly over Italian fashion. The church of the holy apostles Peter and Paul, small speciality shops, cafés and boutiques characterise the townscape.
If a visit to Tarvisio is not enough, you can also use your family holiday for other day trips in the Alpine-Adriatic region. The Italian peaks of the Julian Alps and the Slovenian Triglav National Park are not far away. Larger cities such as Udine or Ljubljana are also within easy reach in an hour and a half's drive. Add another half an hour and you're by the sea.
