Welcome to the Gailtal valley in the sunny south of Austria

We want you to arrive well and safely here. Our Kinderhotel Ramsi is located in the south of Austria, not far from the small town of Hermagor. In fact, you'll find us in the beautiful Carinthian Gailtal valley. And the best way to get there is by car and by train. The nearest airports are in Klagenfurt and Ljubljana.

TRAVELLING BY CAR.

If you are coming to us by car, please remember that you need a vignette for the motorways in Austria. Detailed information on the current traffic situation, traffic jams and roadworks can be found on the ÖAMTC website. You can park conveniently in the free car park right next to our family hotel.

TRAVELLING BY TRAIN.

You can also reach us easily by train. Your destination is the Hermagor S-Bahn station, from where we will be happy to pick you up free of charge (please let us know one week in advance). The current timetable and route information as well as ticket information can be found on the ÖBB or Deutsche Bahn websites.

TRAVELLING BY PLANE.

Here you can find flight schedules and ticket information for the airports in Klagenfurt, Ljubljana, Salzburg and Venice (Venezia Airport). For the transfer to/from the hotel, simply register on the Nassfeld Gailtal Gitschtal Shuttle website. It's really easy and works perfectly well.

Travelling in the region with an electric car and the FReD app

If you want to drive an electric car on your holiday, simply borrow our Ramsi e-car, the all-electric VW Golf ID.3 (class 2 car), via the FReD e-car sharing platform. The best way to do this is to register via the FReD app before you arrive.

E-CHARGING STATIONS DIRECTLY AT THE FAMILY HOTEL.

If you are travelling by electric vehicle, you can charge your car conveniently right outside the front door.

Our two charging stations are activated for all vehicle models (cost contribution 60 cents per KW). You can also charge electric scooters, electric motorbikes or e-bikes here.

RAIL&DRIVE.

For a climate-neutral journey, you can also take the Austrian Federal Railways (Rail&Drive) to Villach station and switch to an electric car there.
